Mid-Month Micropleasures, Musings, and Meanderings: February 2017

Mid-Month Micropleasures, Musings, and Meanderings: February 2017

Okay, so this is a new thing I'm trying, here.

Because I have a lot of thoughts, and I'm constantly writing little illegible notes on scrap pieces of paper, or saving pictures, quotes, and other things I sync to some cloud on my phone that I don't even really know how to access. And then I forget about them. The scrap piece of paper gets thrown out. The picture gets deleted due to a lack of storage on my iPhone. I lose track of my scrawlings.

But not anymore.

Welcome to the very first edition of my Mid-Month Micropleasures, Musings, and Meanderings. (The obsessive organizer in me is freaking out over the fact that I didn't start this in January. I may have to pre-date a future post. Luckily, this is my blog, and I make the rules.)

Mid-Month Micropleasures, Musings, and Meanderings: February 2017

Naturally, this being the month of love and all, my micropleasures, musings, and meanderings follow suit.

Micropleasures

I recently discovered the podcast edition of The New York Times' MODERN LOVE and, needless to say, I'm obsessed.

The passion project I launched with two of my best friends and fellow femmepreneurs from Urban Alchemy went live this month. Enrollment for Love Bomb Bootcamp is now officially open!

My boyfriend thinks I'm batsh*t crazy, but I can't get enough of this Yoga Transition Spray.

Musings

I just finished reading Zadie Smith's, ON BEAUTY. While this book is many things, it intrigued me most as it explored the concept of beauty, it's value, and just how far we'd go to possess it. (Noticing any themes, here?)

I recently got asked to author a monthly column for Hillberg & Berk. The column is called, ON SELF LOVE. Clever, right? You can read my debut post here.

This article I wrote about Mastering Self-Love and Manifesting Your Dreams got published on Peaceful Dumpling

Meanderings

Drawn in by the allure of swoon-worthy packaging, I entered a Sephora for the first time in ages and bought myself this to-die-for Argan Enlightenment Illuminator. I like to mix a single pump of it with my daily face moisturizer to feel instantly enlightened. Okay, mostly, it just gives me a nice all-over glow.

On the subject of beauty, I'm kind of obsessed with this place. If you're from Victoria or Vancouver, I highly recommend pampering yourself here.

I discovered these adorable self-love pinky rings by Fred & Far. Does it mean I love myself more if I buy one for every finger? (JK, I'm a writer. I can't afford that.)

A totally random note in my "Notes" app on my iPhone with the title, "LFB" (short for littlefoolbook), reads:

"The goal here is to be honest. Like, it's not always cool to admit that I once purchased illegal pharmaeuticals that I thought would make me skinny in time for a hot holiday, but hey, its the truth, and maybe just one person who reads this won't feel so bad about themself because look at me... I'm a total mess disguised as a person who appears to have it somewhat together. Whatever that means."

So yeah, there's that. Whatever that means. I don't remember writing it, and I don't remember why I wrote it, or who or what it was intended for. Which is why I'm sharing it with you now. Please comment below if it brings you any comfort. It would bring me comfort.

Last but not least, I leave you with another item from the archives of my iPhone, this picture:
